" At my 36-week home visit, Story came to our house and checked birth supplies and talked to my husband and me about our birth plan. At the end of the evening, Story prayed with us; it gave me much peace about the birth and helped me to let go of anxieties I had had about it. The night I gave birth Story arrived 1.5 hours before the baby was born (it was a fast labor!): she rubbed my back often and spoke soothingly to help me relax during contractions. She also read some of my birth affirmations to me and reminded me that I could do this and praised me for doing a great job...3 days later she visited us at home to check on the baby and me. She asked how I felt physically and emotionally and spent time talking with us, as well as bonding with our new daughter. Story was so wonderful at accommodating our kids at the home visits and especially right after the birth when our kids woke up and wanted to see the new baby. She encouraged their involvement and made sure we were comfortable in our own environment. I'm so thankful she was at our birth; she helped it to be an empowering, joyful experience for me!"
